What can I bring?

What can't I bring? ❌ Sorry, we can't accept:Meat or fishDairy productsCooked foodsBread &#38;amp; grainsOils &#38;amp; greaseDiseased plantsNon-shredded yard wasteWhy these restrictions?We maintain standards because our compost feeds edible gardens. Plus, being in an open space means we avoid items that attract wildlife.

Food Scraps Storage Tips:If outside, consider a ventilated bucket in a shady spotIf inside, consider a sealed container with a lid, located in a dark, cool, and well-ventilated area. You can also store temporarily in fridge or freezer.


Finished CompostHow long does it take to make compost?
 
2-3 months from scraps to black gold!

Can I get take some compost?
Absolutely! We suggest: $5-$20 donation per 5-gallon bucket (Pay-what-you-can sliding scale) OR Volunteer with us in exchange for compost.


Getting InvolvedHow can I volunteer?&#38;nbsp;
Fill out this waiver and come during drop-off hours. We'll show you the ropes! 
Activities include: Chopping scraps, Turning piles, Sifting compost, Hanging out, Making new friends.

City Green BinsWill you stay open due to green bin rollout?
Yes! We're complementary to city services. While green bins handle meat and dairy and other things we wouldn’t accept, we provide a high quality time nurturing high-quality compost together.

Remember: Food feeds people and animals first! Please compost only what can't be eaten.
